Общественные работы затягивают

Мог ли кто-то предсказать, особенно зная меня, что когда-нибудь я погрязну в общественных работах. Может это и есть дурное влияние запада , или это приближение к концу пути мирно предлагает искупить хотя бы основную часть грехов. Хотя если бы мне некто, кому бы я поверил, объяснил по пунктам чего я там наделал, то до этого могло и не дойти. Вобщем приходит мне письмо вот такого содержания…

Congratulations on your recent offer of Assistant Venue Protocol Language Services with the department of International Client Services (ICS) and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Parlaympic Winter Games (VANOC). Below you will find some more details regarding what this position entails and the qualities you have that compliment your assignment. Your placement in this role was based on numerous factors including: positions available, area of preference, background, experience, language, commuting times, favourite sports and your answers during the application and interview process.

In your role you will facilitate conversations for event staff, athletes, officials, members of the media and international guests. You will also help to facilitate venue operations and provide hospitality and services based on the code and guidelines defined by ICS Protocol. You are an important resource to the organization as a whole and may work with volunteers and staff from other functions.

Duties:

• As an Assistant Venue Protocol Language Services volunteer you will:
• Provide protocol and language services assistance in various areas of the venue
• Facilitate conversation between parties who do not speak the same language
• Provide service to VANOC functional areas, athletes, officials, and the press
• Manage the VIP seating area
• Provide friendly and personal ushering services to accredited guests by directing them to their seating areas
• Keep the area tidy, collect disposable cups and other items during competition
• Assist with exit at the conclusion of the event.

Когда я только начинал заниматься общественными работами, я еще не знал точно зачем и куда это может завести. Дело оказалось заразным. Никаких препятсвий на пути. Задаром мне везде рады))).

Податься на такую добровольщину было совсем не сложно. В конкурсе на 20 тыс. мест учавствовало всего 60 тыс. 3 человека на место — это для нас не конкуренция, тем более у меня была полная самоуверенность, что работа даром ко мне просто липнет.

Заявление я подал в последние дни и вскоре получил приглашение на интервью и ознакомительную сессию. Конечно, в силу моих убеждений, мне не каждая черная работа по душе и я попросился переводчиком на хоккей. С ненатянутой улыбкой на лице, мне пояснили, что именно туда хотят все остальные 60 тысяч. Ну и ладно, тогда я взмолился, чтобы не кёрлинг и не шофером, на этом успокоился и забыл.
